Talk about not knowing what to blog about! I'm the worst at trying to keep my blog up to date! It's been over six months since I've last written anything on here! I honestly never know what to post about. So I suppose I should just start this post by saying (an overdue) Happy New Year!

I think part of the reason I haven't blogged much about my photography (not that I ever was an avid blogger) is because I've been studying graphic design and though it originally was to improve things such as presentation of my photography, it seems to have opened a ton of new doors for me! This is not to say that photography has been put on the back burner. Oh no, I still have a love of photography and I still love photographing everyone that comes to me. However, since having started graphic design last January, I have found another love. So much so, that in May, I'll be competing in provincials on behalf of my school in a skills competition. How exciting! :)

30 Day "Photography" Challenge

Hey all,

So I recently started a 30 day "photography" challenge on instagram. I put quotation marks around photography because I don't necessarily pull out my Canon 5D to capture these images, I've just been using my plain and basic cellphone camera. I'm thinking I should challenge myself at the end of 30 days and start another 30 days, but this time using my real camera. We'll just have to see how it goes!

Throwback Thursday: 2009

Another Throwback Thursday, here's one from 2009 when I first started my photography program. I remember taking this picture as though it was last week. I have three different girls come in and I put jewels on their faces. I used pearls on one girl, black rhinestones on another and clear rhinestones on the girl below, each jewelled design was different. I loved it then and I still love it now, even if I see little thing or two I would change, but hey, 4 years in photography makes a huge difference! ;)

New Project: LUXE lingerie

For those of you who either know me or follow me on facebook (Facebook Page), you've probably heard that I have a new project going on. So for those of you who don't know, I've started a new project selling new "old stock" vintage lingerie. It's called LUXE lingerie and what it is we are doing is selling brand new pieces of lingerie that are old stock. Here are some images of our products. What's your favorite piece?

Throwback Thursday: 2009

I was going through some of my photography the other day and landed on one of my personal favorites, taken way back in 2009. I thought why not start  "Throwback Thursdays" here on the blog where I post work I've done in the past! This week's image was not produced through my handheld camera. This type of photography is called scanography and it's exactly what it sounds like, "scanner photography". Using a scanner to take an image. Though not taken with my camera, I love this picture very much.

When writing a little about the image here is what I wrote: "I don't have much to say [about the photograph], I just really like the eerie feeling, especially since you can't see the eyes, it also feels as though the person is trapped and I like that hair-raising emotion it sends out, almost like the person who is trapped is unable to breath."

2009 - Scanography

Finding My Work

In 2011, I made a short documentary about a single mother, Ruth Hovsepian, who talks about what it's like being a single parent and how she's supported her family. (If you haven't seen it yet, you can view it below.)

Some time last year while browsing the web, my mother came across my work online! Of course I was really excited that it was being distributed by a website/blog other then my own. I wondered if there were any other places online that I could find with my work, and I did! (Posted below.) Today, I decided to quickly look online again to see if anyone else has posted about it or has linked it and I did find someone on tumblr who posted a link to video. It's nice to see that it's out there! :)

2013 - New Year & Surprises

I can't believe the end of January is already here! I feel like it was yesterday we were standing out in the cold counting down to new year. I know that 2013 holds a lot of new surprises for me. Everyone loves surprises! This year, why not surprise your friends with a photoshoot! Know a woman who loves to feel glamorous? Present her with one of our Glamour Portrait sessions! Know a lovely mother to be? Give her the gift of a maternity shoot. Often times, mothers-to-be are preparing for the arrival of the baby that they just don't take the time to schedule a shoot. Help them out by buying them a gift voucher, they'll thank you later!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

The beautiful weather outside may not be reminding anyone of Christmas, but it's right around the corner! These pictures definitely make me feel like Christmas is almost here! :) One look at this adorable child and I can't stop myself from smiling! Take a look for yourself, what do you think? :)

A Little Organizing...

I spent most of today tidying up and tossing out a bunch of things I no longer needed. As I mentioned on twitter earlier, I can never understand how I end up with so much recycling after organizing! On another note, I've got a ton of prints ready and waiting to be picked up! :) I love having peoples prints all packaged up and ready to go, it makes me feel organized! ;)

October Sessions

I've been shooting a lot recently and have been loving every minute of it! Working with different clients is always so awesome because everyone is so different from each other. I especially love all the children that parents bring to me, I when kids smile and laugh, it always makes me so happy! :)

Summer Days

I recently did a shoot with a family who I've previously worked with, they're amazing and their children are absolutely adorable! We went to a little park near their home, which was great because the kids were comfortable with their surroundings, which made them completely at ease. The whole family is always so fun to work with. :)  As we packed up it started to lightly rain and then as we drove away it began to pour! All I have to say is thank you Lord for the beautiful weather we had!  Here's two shots of the two cuddly kids :)

Boudoir

For the past couple of months I've been working on my boudoir portfolio. I had so many shoots that some weeks I had about 4 or 5 girls scheduled in, along with all the other work I was doing! But I have to say I absolutely enjoyed it and I loved working with real girls all different yet all beautiful in their own way. Here's a little look at two of my shoots, enjoy. :)

Awareness Campaign Part 2

As promised, here is the vertical version of the men's breast cancer awareness poster I've been working on! Which of the two do you prefer, the vertical or the horizontal?

Awareness Campaign

Here's a little something I've been working on for awhile. It's an awareness campaign for men's breast cancer. Although breast cancer is primarily found in women, men are also at risk of being diagnosed with it. Because a lot of people aren't aware of this, I decided I wanted men's breast cancer as my subject for my campaign. There are two imagines that have been created for this campaign, the horizontal one above which is for a billboard and a vertical image (soon to be posted) which is for a bus shelter! :)

Gorgeous Children

I've always loved working with children and these photo shoots were no different! I had a lot of fun working with all of these different kids over the past few months. Getting to know each child and their personality is all part of the fun, it's also so great to see the relationship between the child and their mother or father. I truly enjoyed myself! :)

Redheads

I did a photo shoot a while back with a family full of redheads and I have to say they are absolutely beautiful! :) Check back soon to see more pictures that I've taken, new post should be coming up real soon! :)
